Victoria Brassard-Monahan (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Victoria Brassard Counselling in Kingston, Ontario, providing individual and couples therapy in-person downtown and virtually across Ontario. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (with Distinction), and practises under the supervision of Kim Lawrence (BScH, MSW, RSW).
Victoria works with people who often put on a mask as if they’re holding it together, even though they know something feels off underneath. That might look like still performing as if you’re “fine” through burnout, hitting the same wall in relationship after relationship, or accepting compliments out loud while secretly holding a belief that “I’m not good enough.” More generally, her typical clients are usually carrying one of a few things: low self-esteem, people-pleasing patterns, anxiety, burnout, or being neurodivergent (having ADHD/autism) in a family that never quite felt comfortable to be yourself in.
Victoria is a direct, attachment-based therapist. She’ll notice what’s happening in the room in real time and help you see exactly where to look, so you can stop managing your feelings and start actually feeling them. Expect to be challenged with care, never shamed.
As a queer cisgender woman, Victoria is passionate about offering therapy that feels safe and affirming for people within and outside the LGBTQIA+ community. Everybody is welcome in her space, regardless of identity or background.
